In a flurry of nerves and excitement, Siyane Toastmasters Club members recently took center stage at the Area-Level Speech Contests for Area 1, Division F, District 82. Held at ARK Academy on October 29th, the atmosphere crackled with anticipation as contestants from various clubs vied for top honors in both Evaluation and Humorous Speech categories.
Among the sea of competitors, it was our very own TM Chamin Athauda and TM Praveen Kumarasinghe who stole the spotlight, showcasing their talent and dedication to the craft.
TM Chamin Athauda’s thoughtful and insightful evaluation skills shone brightly, earning him the coveted title of Winner in the Evaluation Contest. His ability to provide constructive feedback with warmth and encouragement truly set him apart.
Meanwhile, TM Praveen Kumarasinghe had the audience in stitches with his uproarious humor, capturing 1st Place in the Humorous Speech Contest. His knack for weaving hilarious anecdotes and clever punchlines left no doubt that laughter truly is the best medicine.
But the victory was not just theirs alone—it was a triumph for our entire club, a testament to the supportive community and nurturing environment fostered by Siyane Toastmasters Club. From the mentors who provided guidance and support to the fellow members who cheered them on every step of the way, it was a collective effort that propelled TM Chamin and TM Praveen to success.
Although only TM Chamin and TM Praveen will advance to the Division level, their achievements fill us all with immense pride and inspiration. Their journey serves as a reminder that with passion, perseverance, and the support of a dedicated community, anything is possible.
