On the 6th of August, the IDM Nations Campus in Gampaha was not just an academic hub; it transformed into a cinematic universe! Siyane Toastmasters Club proudly hosted its Meeting No 332, bringing the world of cinema to its enthusiastic members and guests in a memorable 180-minute experience.
With the theme ‘Around the World of Cinema in 180 Minutes,’ the event promised to be a blend of entertainment and eloquence. Living up to this expectation, TM Praveen Kumarasinghe, our Toastmaster of the Day, did a commendable job steering the meeting with charisma and cinematic flair.
The evening was adorned with the active participation of nearly 40 individuals, a mix of both members and guests, who came together to celebrate the magic of movies and the art of public speaking. The atmosphere was abuzz with film references, anecdotes, and quotes, weaving seamlessly into the essence of Toastmasters.
Taking a cue from our first meeting of the year, which introduced innovative segments like “INVOCATION” and the engaging physical activities during the “Round Robin” session, this meeting too, showcased the club’s commitment to constant evolution and novelty. This cinematic journey also upheld the Toastmasters core values, emphasizing how the world of film reflects the nuances of respect, integrity, service, and excellence.
In keeping with our motto of merging education with entertainment, as envisioned by our founder TM Ralph C Smedley, the evening concluded on a high note. The room echoed with melodious tunes as the audience engaged in a spirited karaoke session, proving that when Toastmasters come together, joy and learning go hand in hand.
