The very first meeting of the Siyane Toastmasters Club for the year 2023 / 2024 was held on the 2nd of July 2023 at IDM Nations Campus, Gampaha with 36 participants. The theme of the meeting was “RISE” where the core values of Toastmasters; Respect, Integrity, Service & Excellence was discussed in depth mainly at “Round Robin & Table Topic Sessions” and the ways of applying them to our lives.
We introduced a new role to our meetings, “INVOCATION” with the intention of inspiring the audience with a take-home message. Round Robin session was conducted in a novel way with a physical activity that was enjoyed by the participants. All other items have been well conducted according to the agenda. Further, the role of Evaluation Feedback Provider has been incorporated with the General Evaluator role. TM Hansi Deheragoda & TM Madhumali Mudalige have completed level 1 & level 2 respectively in Motivational Strategies & Dynamic Leadership. At the end of the meeting, a karaoke song was sung by the audience since we believe we are here as Toastmasters for EDUCATION with ENTERTAINMENT as mentioned by our founder TM Ralf C Smedly.
